Description: Antique Vintag Primitive Iron Anderson Ironworks Coal Shovel No 2. Hello, thank you for looking. For sale is this awesome antique shovel. It is marked with a number two inside the diamond stamped on the handle, as pictured. For you shovel enthusiast and collectors out there, you may know more about this than I do and I would welcome any information you would want to send me. From what I can find in the shovel identification guide, it looks a lot like an Anderson Ironworks or a Dandy. This shovel measures 38 1/2 inches from the top of the handle to the bottom of the scoop. The scoop is 8 3/4 inches wide at its widest. The handle is 4 inches across, with the opening being 3 1/4 inches wide. Overall, the shovel is in great antique shape. It is not cracked anywhere that I can see. The wooden handle appears to be one solid piece all the way through. If you look at the bottom of the scoop, you can see where this tool was used for its intended purposes. It has some dings and curling at the edges. This fine tool was worked hard and it shows. The shovel scoop itself has scratches from use, but no huge dents to be noted. It does have quite a patina to it. Please zoom in on the pictures as they are my best description. You can see what’s left of the label on the top of the handle. Ask any questions you may have before purchase. Buy with confidence as I have excellent feedback. This will ship quickly, well packaged and fully insured. Thank you for looking.
