Description: Unusual Cartel Wall Clock with a Striking Balance Escapement Movement and Barometer and Thermometer, in Excellent Fully Working Condition This clocks movement is unusual. It is of French quality, with springs in barrels, held by taper pins and well machined gears, but not the usual French round or square type. I am a recognized expert on French clocks, but I have never seen such a movement. It may be French, but I am not certain. It is certainly antique, I am guessing from the beginning of the 20th century and made for an English speaking market (this part was common enough with French made clocks). The movement is fairly clean and fully functional - runs 8 days on a wind and strikes once on half-hour and the number of hours on the hour. The escapement was replaced by a high quality modern one, of correct cadence, otherwise seems all original and with no damage anywhere. Hand painted porcelain dial is superb, no chips at all. Barometer is excellent, so is thermometer. Case is damage free, with great patina, it is not bronze, seems to be spelter, but heavier than spelter normally is. I will include a key. Pictures speak for themselves, but do let me know if you have any additional questions. The clock measures 26" (66 cm) high. This is a fairly heavy metal clock, it will require hanging on a sturdy hook in a wall stud. No international shipping on this one.I am not doing any business, buying or selling, with anyone residing in Russia until Russia withdraws from Ukraine, no exceptions.I am not a clock dealer - I am a clock collector and a member of NAWCC. I currently have more than 200 clocks and I keep buying more, so I have to sell some. I would be selling many more if I had the time to list them...Je parle le français un peu. Si vous êtes français je vous encourage à me parler le français. Please note that I will not ship to an address that is different from the one listed by eBay or PayPal unless the winning bidder can really prove to me that the address is legitimate. My prefered shipping for this is FedEx Home Delivery - UPS has been very bad at handling packages lately. Please note that FedEx shipments require destination's phone number, if eBay does not have yours and you are concerned about releasing it to me, we can find an alternate method of shipping.
