Description: Sublime length of antique French silk brocade jacquard furnishings type fabric. An incredible length of unused old stock acquired from the attic of a former upholsterer. This far exceeded my expectations. It is an impeccable example of old French silk from about the 1930's/40's time frame. A pattern reminiscent of the earlier 18thc type brocades. Beautifully done in a deep bordeaux/burgundy/wine type hue and a lovely blushy rosey sort of red on a lovely cream ground. The back side shown in the 1st series of photos is utterly amazing and will give you a good idea of color. A phenomenal piece for an abundance of home pieces and period projects. Thrilled with this magnificent French find. They are very few and far between. An amazing textile of it's period. ~* ~*Condition is very nice for it's age. Again this is unused. For having been stored for many years it is in lovely condition and appears very clean. I noted a scuff at the edge in one area, please refer to photo # 11. Strong and stable and ready to work with. Cleaning will be up to the buyers preference if you feel it needs it. I think it is marvelous as is. You may simply want to air it for a bit of freshness from years of storage. ~*Measures 51" wide by 20" long. I can keep your selected length uncut, so for example a quantity of "2" selected would be 51" x 40" etc.. One would make a lovely window pelemet or long cushion or even several smaller cushions.
