Description: ~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ Lovely antique French quilted daybed cover!~ Stunning textile!!~ This textile dates from c1860-1880. The backing fabrics are earlier than the front fabric, some pieces I would date c1830-1850. This magnificent textile is 100% hand stitched and hand quilted. The front fabric is a wonderful, soft gentle twill weave, medium to heavy weight cotton. The printing is SO pretty!~ Lovely Chinoiserie design, with the most glorious colors! The ground is a lovely warm brown/khaki tone and the other colors include:moss greens, khaki, deep sienna , soft pink, red and a lovely cream tone. There is and extraordinary pieced back on this quilt~ lovely early stripes, in black, gray , off white and a lovely denim indigo blue piece as well. All hand stitched in glorious stitching!!~ This textile was designed to cover a daybed, so there is one scalloped edge. There is a wonderful, thin twill cotton trim that has been hand stitched at the edge of the scalloped edge. A very high quality textile. ~ the other edges are straight! There is a medium cotton batting in between the front and the backing ~ one of my favorite quilted textiles!! ~*~ MEASUREMENTS : The scalloped side of this lovely textile is 84 inches wide ( 7 feet) and the length is 95 inches long (7.9 feet long) Please note the pattern direction) CONDITION: This lovely quilt is in wonderful condition. It is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. It appears to have been laundered at some point recently, however could use a quick freshen up. ( although for those that like to keep the textiles in original condition, in my option , laundering is not necessary! ) There are two small holes on the edge on the left side of this textile. The back also has a small hole, easily closed!
