Description: A wonderful antique Georgian, natural shell cameo; beautifully hand carved to depict a countryside scene of a dancer and a musician playing a lyre, with onlookers including a seated pipe-smoker (my favourite). It's a romanticised image of what Grand Tourists of the time probably actually saw, and has some wonderful energy. It's set into solid pinchbeck (an old gold simulant) with superb ornate shell-type designs and is fitted for wear as a brooch - adapted in the long past, it was originally the clasp of a bracelet. It dates from around 1820 and is in very good, fully wearable condition throughout, with the tips of some retaining claws missing but it's all perfectly secure. It weighs 25.6 grams and measures 2 x 1 ¾ inches. All my items are guaranteed 100% as described or your money back, so buy with confidence! What's more, I offer layaway deals so there's no need to let any of my listings slip through your fingers - just ask! If you like this one, click here to see my other items.
