This nice old clock was made by the Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. in Winstead, Conn., USA during the early 1900's and is in very nice condition for its age. The original movement has recently been cleaned and is running and gonging properly. It counts each hour on a cathedral style gong and then announces each half hour with a single brass bell chime. Its styling is classic and would fit nicely in almost any decor. The pierced brass and paper dial with its solid brass bezel looks amazing for its age. The case was refinished at one time in beautiful black enamel with a mustard yellow trim, so there is very little to report concerning age and handling marks. This is a great old clock that looks amazing, with a quality 8 day movement that has been serviced and is running and gonging well. Complete with key and pendulum, this clock is ready to place up on the mantle and enjoy for many years to come. The case measures approx. 17" wide x 10½ " high x 7" deep. It should be understood before bidding that all antique clocks, unless otherwise noted, have nicks, tarnished brass, stains, minor dents, possibly touch ups and minor scratches on the glass, all of which are normally acquired from long term honest use. It is nearly impossible to find one in "mint" condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. If a clock is sold as "in running condition," it means that we have test run it before listing it and feel confident that it will run for you.
