Description: Rare matching set pair of antique glass door knobs with original brass hardware. Both knobs are light sun-purpled glass in the classic 8-point shape, with their original brass mounts; two original brass keyhole escutcheon are also included. Also in this lot is the original inner-door mechanism; however, there is no key (but any locksmith should be able to make one, if needed). Also missing are three brass screws from one of the knob mounts (also easily replaceable). As you can see in the listing photos, all hardware comes mounted in a wood section of the original door. Wood appears to be Douglas Fir, suggesting Pacific Northwest origin. Given the clues, these are believed to predate 1900, possibly much older. Overall condition is very good. As expected in such antique items, there are light scuffs and scratches, as well as 'flea-bites' to some edges and corners. Mechanism is working. Some white paint residue is present. Some dings and dents to hardware. Brass has a lovely patina. As you can see, these door knobs look and present beautifully. FAST and FREE SHIPPING! 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK! OVER 1000 POSITIVE REVIEWS!
