Description: Beautiful antique lacquerware pair of wood figurines from India featuring a pair of wedding elephants with hand painted portraits of the bride and groom on one elephant and the bride consulting with Krishna (or perhaps Vishnu) on the other elephant. Brightly colored with nice details and bright large eyes on the elephants. It looks to once have had canopies and umbrellas as there are holes in the tops to insert such items, but they are long lost to time and not included (see last photo for reference). No other structural damage, some light wear of the paint in areas, which is minor. These handsome figurines would make a lovely addition to any Indian or Hindu wedding and measure aprox. 6" in length, 6" in height and are about 3" in depth/width.
