Description: Antique Macomb Pottery Co. 1 Quart Dark Glazed Crock~ 5-1/2" Tall & 4-1/4" Wide The piece is glazed inside and out with an unglazed bottom marked - MACOMB POTTERY CO. The drip glazed gloss finish has a mixture of light and dark brown with gold and green hues. The glaze has a few factory flaws. There is a light area along the rim as well as a few small chips on the rim and bottom. Also, a 3/16" glaze pop near the upper band. This piece was made for utility not beauty. The Macomb Pottery Company of Monmouth, Illinois ceased production in 1906 merging with several other small pottery companies to form the Western Stoneware Company.
