Description: Up for sale is a great, colored antique MAP from York County, Maine - 1872. MAP OF SOUTH BERWICK VILLAGE AND GREAT WORKS, MAINE - (PAGE 104/105). It is a very detailed map, measuring approximately 26 1/2 x 16 inches, including the border area. It is blank on the reverse side. It is from the "ATLAS OF YORK COUNTY, MAINE". From actual Surveys, drawn and Published by Sanford, Everts & Co. - 320 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia. Engraved by Worley & Bracher, Printed by Fred Bourquin. 1872. It is a Plat Book of the Villages, Cities and Townships of the County. Maps this early and showing this much detail are a great piece of history! The map has fantastic coloring to it. There is a crease across the middle of the map from where it was bound - there is a tear along the center fold at the left edge that extends about 2 inches into the map. Map is generally in Good- Condition. Some age related browning and toning and some spotting and stains. The map has some small tears and chips around the edges, but they do not affect the map. Some other dings here and there. Some bleeding of the title onto the opposite side of the map. This map would be a great addition to any collection and will look very nice when framed! Please note that while I have included a picture of the Title Page of the Atlas that this map was taken from, it is NOT included in the sale, as it is a reference piece to determine authenticity for the other maps.
