Antique Marples Hibernia Coffin Plane Sheffield Wood Plane Cast Steel

Description: Please see all the photos as they are part of the description. Please contact me with any questions. Hi! Here is a antique/vintage W. Marples and Sons, Sheffield, coffin wood plane. The piece is used and shows signs of wear but in overall very good antique condition. The plane measures approximately 8" long, 3" wide and 3" tall (shoe). The shoe appears to be flat and level without any serious defects. The front of the shoe has the W. Marples and Sons, Sheffield logo embossed on it but appears to have been stricken through (see photos). There is also "1943" embossed on the shoe under the logo. The chip breaker and blade are in good antique condition. The blade is marked with the W. Marples and Sons logo however the logo has been damaged (see photos). The lever cap is wooden and keeps the blade securely in place. This is a great antique W. Marples and Sons coffin plane for the antique wood workers tool enthusiast!
