In his long career he illustrated children’s books, album covers, and countless magazine articles. His artwork is in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Brooklyn Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, and Indianapolis Museum of Art, among others. He also played drums locally with his jazz band, “Jive By Five” for nearly 30 years.-There are several areas where the inlay is missing or damaged.
