Description: This 3 gallon jar has a wonderful and very vivid cobalt decoration on it of three large leaves. This 3 gallon jar is by the New York Stoneware Co. in Fort Edward, N.Y. The New York Stoneware Co. was in operation from 1859 to 1885. It does have 3 chips on the rim. One chip is on the from edge, a smaller chip on the inside edge and a small chip on the outside edge of the rim on the back. Also, someone drilled a hole into the bottom to make a lamp base out of it but it does not hurt the integrity of the jar. There is also some red pain on the back which could easily be stripped off. Although, it has a few minor issues, it is still a wonderful old piece of salt glaze. This large jar stand at about 13 inches tall. There are no hairlines or cracks. Please make sure to look at all the pictures provided as they are part of the description.
