Description: I have up for sale a lovely antique circa 1900 give or take Oak with caned seat and back Folding High Chair / Rocker combination. This is an attractive old high chair and the mechanism works just fine. It raises up for a high chair and can be lowered so that it can be used as a rocker. There are 4 settings , so 4 positions that the chair will raise or lower to . The chair in the upright position stands approx 40" at the top of the backrest . It measures approx 16-1/2" across the tray , and it measures roughly 22-1/2" deep - front to back . The caning on the back most likely was replaced at sometime in the past. The caning on the seat appears to be original , its a bit worn but not bad. This is "Press Cane" not "hole cane - which is much easier to replace if it was necessary . The tray is original to the high chair and its in real nice condition. The mechanism works just as it should and is activated by the knob behind the seat. Its a spring loaded device as you can see. The chair is in Very Good Used Condition , has some livable minor imperfections as noted in the Condition Report and shown in the pics. Selling it just as you see it. I assume that the chair was refinished many years back and at that time probably replaced the caning. It stands approx 40-1/8" tall when in the upright position as used for a high chair, can be lowered for a stroller - meaning it lowers to the point where the cast iron wheels connect with the ground an allow you to roll the chair. It lowers all the way down almost like a rocker looking position. It measures approx 16" across the tray . The tray can be flipped up and over the top allowing it rest on the back portion , allowing you to easily remove the child from the chair. I suggest using it only as a high chair and using a plastic zip tie to hold the chair in place in order to prevent it from accidentally falling down with the kid in it. I will remove the tray to make it easier to package and place it on the bottom of the inner box - down by the wheels. When you get the box , lay it down on one of the side - preferably the one with the chair laying on its back. The cut open the bottom of the box, then remove the layer of polystyrene, then remove the tray. Stand the box back up , open the top and remove the top polystrene layer. Cut down two of the corners , this way the box falls away from the chair rather than you pulling it out and possibly causing an issue.
