Description: Up for sale is this Antique Photographic Image Of a Sinking German Submarine in World War 1, with Soldiers On Top hoping for a rescue. This was in a photo and postcard album that pertained mostly to the USS Idaho, I’m guessing the images we see are from the Idaho’s perspective and the ship with its spot light shining on the submarine is the USS Davis. German Sub U-113 in WWI was surrendered, but UB-113 was lost in 1918 for unknown reasons according to Wikipedia, perhaps we now know the reason. I am far from an expert on photography and in some ways the image is almost surreal. It’s on a relatively thick stock paper and along the edges it has that silvery glimmer. The paper is not perfectly cut, it’s considerably narrower on the right than the left. Measures about 8 3/4” across, 5 3/8” tall on one side, 5 1/4” on the other.
