It is one of the main parts of spinning wheel which is an ancient machine that turned fibers into thread or yarn, which were then woven into cloth on a loom. Usually spinning wheels have their distaffs missing, thus this makes this part one of the rarest to find. And this DISTAFF is very interesting, rarely found. Both ends of its strips of twigs are reinforced and hemmed with birch bark.
