Description: Finely chiseled and gilded roccaille motif France late 19th century mirror frame, with original lightly beveled mirrored glass insert. In excellent condition, with some wear to the guilding, commiserate with the age. The mirror insert has no wear to the mirror surface, and it's beveled to the shape of the frame, which can be seen in the photos above. Measures 28.5 inches tall and 13.5" inches wide. Putti finial. I saw that Putti is attached to the frame with a big screw. I did not try, but I think, it can be removed. For best its performance, the bronze needs to be clean. I saw that kind of mirror in a consignment store, professionally cleaned, the beauty of the mirror is speachless. It does retain a lot of the original patina.
