Antique Sanctuary Lamp France 1800's Cathedral Alter Brass Baroque Hanging Lamp*

Description: This is for a WONDERFUL very RARE piece of history. This is a Baroque / Renaissance Revival Solid Brass Church / Sanctuary Alter hanging lamp / lantern. This measures: 15 inches in diameter and 14.5 inches deep to the base of the circle attached to the acorn. The chain measures 38 inches long making the total hanging length 52.5 inches long!!This lovely piece has 3 Cherubs and 3 additional embossed pieces that are all held on by screws from the inside. The piece has an etched number on the bottom of the rim Z402198. This most likely was made in France in the 1800's as is in line with others from there and the same time period. This could hold a candle if a liner was used or perhaps a beautiful hanging plant along with perhaps battery candles! This has been polished to bring it back to its original glory and will gain a soft patina over time. I just love this piece. Majority of my items for sale are pre-loved treasures that were most likely purchased at a local Estate Sale or a local resale shop in Arizona.
