Antique Signed Framed Impressionist Seascape "Sea in a Storm" Oil Painting Sail

Description: We are pleased to present to you this vivid impressionist seascape, oil painting. This piece features a magnificent depiction of clipper ships at sea in a storm. The ship at the forefront is shown to have sustained damage in the storm as one of it's masts is seen broken in the waves below it. It's sails are also tattered and blow in the storm. It is signed "JW" in the lower left hand corner. It is also titled on the back in fountain pen "Sea, in a Storm." Under this title is also what appears to be the artist's signature. This piece has great expression, and wonderful interpretation of light and space. It is painted with such realistic detail and feeling. The painting is on a very heavy paper. The painting is taped onto matting, which is then held into an inner frame. This inner frame is then framed under glass, into a substantial gold gilt and brown paint frame.
