Description: My goodness, what a gorgeous pattern this is !!!! There have been versions of this pattern for eons, but I think this one is my favorite. The colors are so brilliant; makes me happy ! This plate was made by Spode in Feb. of 1909, exclusively for Waring and Gillow, one of the finest companies in London at the time. It was later released to other companies. I've heard it called Pheasant, Asiatic Pheasant, and Bird of Paradise, but I think the original name is Pheasant. It has a rust red rim, which is pretty gutsy in itself. I have 6 of these plates and 2 bowls and am listing them separately to satisfy what your needs are and to point out each plates individual small flaws. This plate shows six dots of glaze loss on the rim; an easy touch up, and three rough dots on the edge. At first I thought two of them were touch-ups but the third one is an obvious frit, so I think the plate came out of the factory that way. There is no crazing, no cutlery marks, no chips, no hairlines, no cracks ! It measures 8.75". I'll be glad to combine shipping. Be sure to check out my other listings for more unique collectibles. I'll be happy to combine shipping when possible. Thanks for looking! Enjoy!!
