Description: Antique Stoneware Pottery Crock with Lid Bail Handle Black Wood Grip Gallon SizeProduct Description: An early, glazed stoneware crock with lid from the late 19th to early 20th century. It's a hefty crock weighing just over 6 pounds. Standing just under 7 inches tall and 7 ½ inches wide, it still retains its original wire bail handle and black wooden grip. It does show some age with chips around the rim, although still functional and decorative. A very nice piece of early pottery which has a simple, country primitive appearance. The lid appears to be original to the piece, matching color and fit although unsure what the 5 & 6 represents.
