Description: This is an Antique White Ironstone Octagonal Sydenham Platter made in Burslem, England by Edward Corn. In 1850, the pottery was transferred to Edward’s sons, and renamed “W & E Corn”. This piece predates the transfer. Measurements: 12 5/8” x 10” x 1” Condition: no cracks or hairlines. A bit of overall light staining - I did not soak this to remove it. Generally shiny, with knife marks (light) in well. There are 3 shallow glaze chips. This has the standard stilt marks. The back stamp is black transfer. “Ironstone China. Edward Corn” with the shield, a rampant lion and unicorn, as well as an eagle atop the shield. Thanks for looking. This is carefully packed with paper and bubble wrap and is double boxed. *********I have provided two options for shipping.
