Description: Antique Windsor and Newton Portable Artist Box with Brushes and Oil Paints.A good condition solid wood box with dovetail joints and brass fittings and a leather handle; there appears to have been an historic repair to the back of the lid, in which a strip of wood has been spliced in.The box has been lightly cleaned and waxed. The inside has wood dividers and the palette is held in place when portable, by slipping the long edge into a groove that runs down the front inside of the box and a small swivel clip at the back of the box secures it. The Contents included (have all been used):The 4 tubes of oil paints are WN Artists' colours with metal bodies and lids; mostly 3/4 full and soft.The 4 brushes (Hog hair?) have long black wood handles stamped Winsor &Newton, with square ends and nickel ferrules also stamped with Winsor & Newton ltd England.Palette is used. Box measures: 13.25" x 9" x 2" / 33.7cm x 22.5cm x 5cm
