Description: Antique wrought iron flowers pediment. France, circa 1930. In the manner of Edgar Brandt, totally in the Art Deco taste and period. An outstanding hand forged ornament , all hand made and hammered, in a heavy thick iron. Can be used as a masterpiece collection or wall decoration. Edgar Brandt ( 1880-1960 ) French ironworker. Brandt's work was acknowledged by the American Association of Architects making him an honorary member in 1929. No signature detected. Numbered 1 ( see photos ). I cleaned it. To get hired in such important workshop , such as Edgar Brandt , any employee was given a small piece to do, to know his ability before getting hired. I believe this is a sample. Edgar Brandt is his peak ( beginning 1920 ) , hired over 150 iron makers. Please see photos carefully to admire the beauty of the work. Dimensions : W : 8 1/4 inches ( 21 cm ) H : 8 1/4 inches ( 21 cm ) Weight : 1 lbs 8.3 oz ( 688 grams ). The heavy weight, related to the size, reflects the thickness of the iron and authenticity of the piece. Condition report : No damage or missing pieces. Clean and ready to be placed.
