Description: This is a wonderful estate find. We were told, but cannot verify that the santos icon statue is of Black Forest origin from the 19th century. In my limited knowledge, it also appears that it could be of Spanish origin. The santos/retablo is painted and mounted on a wood base. The statue measures approximately 21" tall x 3" wide and 11-1/4" long at the santos' outstretched hands and weighs 5-1/2#. The back is flat. It is in overall beautiful antique condition, and the fairly insignificant flaws just seem to add to its charm and magnificence. Photo #11 shows the right edge of the santos' cloak, which has been glued back in place but really is undetected from the front.
