This bearing is used on many larger commercial models to support the input shaft for the auger gearbox - which is the same shaft that the impeller fan is pinned onto - hence the need for a support bearing. You will know when your bearing has dried out because your snow blower will sound like it has a freight train inside of it when the auger clutch is engaged. NOTE: This is NOT the smaller .750 (3/4") ID bearing used on many older models. Measurements of the bearing are: .876 x 1.75 x .50 It can be a real job (better said - a real hassle) to install a new bearing in many of the older snow blowers because of the effort needed to disassemble age old "stuck" parts , so why install non-OEM parts that might not last as long or work as well?
