Description: Algerian Advertising Poster 1939 Benedictine is a herbal liqueur beverage developed by Alexandre Le Grand in the 19th century and produced in France. Still made today, the recipe is a closely guarded trade secret, purportedly known to only three people at any given time! (Source: Wikipedia). Lithograph printed in Algiers. Every bottle of Benedictine has the initials D.O.M. on the label, which stands for "Deo Optimo Maximo" ("To God, most good, most great"). This abbreviation is commonly used at the beginning of documents of the Benedictine Order as a dedication of their work. The poster was never folded. It has a few tiny and tears along portions of some of the brown outer border (at upper and lower center and at upper and lower left). It is otherwise in very nice condition and it displays well! Please see all images. This is an extremely rare poster.
