There may be some slight blemishes, scratches, etc. from cutting, pvc glue, drilling or general handling. This will in no way will affect the functionality. The pipe itself may be slightly blemished from the manufacturer or our plumbing supplier. I have one in all my coops.Your chickens will drink more water with these type nipples.Horizontal nipples may not the best option for very young chicks.I have used horizontal nipples for 4 week and older, large fowl chicks.
