The disc includes the last extant work by Bach in the genre: Lobe den Herrn, meine Seele, BWV 69. The series of cantatas was initiated in 1995, as a collaboration between the Japanese musicians and the Swedish label BIS Records, and has in the intervening years become one of the most highly respected recording projects around.
