This is the standard size commercial growers use to produce large amounts of microgreens. If you plan on using a 1020 tray, you'll want to use just under 1 oz of Basic Salad Mix Microgreen seeds. This will produce a full tray of delicious microgreens. What do I use for a grow medium?You can use either soil, coco-coir or microgreen mats. All work well. We personally use coco-coir as it's very clean and cheap. What should I grow my microgreens in?You can use any shallow container that you may have. Nothing fancy is required. Can I grow them indoors?Yes, microgreens are best grown indoors near a sunny window. This not only prevents pests, but you'll also have a fresh clean harvest every time. How do you eat microgreens?You can make a microgreen salad, consisting of only microgreens (and your favorite dressing), or you can sprinkle some into your regular salad each day. They provide 40 times more nutrients than their adult varieties. How do I harvest them?Harvesting is easy. Get your kitchen scissors and simply cut just above the soil line. Rinse and enjoy. How long can I keep harvested microgreens for?Storing your microgreens is simple. Once you've cleaned them, place them in a container and put them in the refrigerator. They will keep fresh for at least 1 week past your harvest date. It's a good idea to lightly mist them every day or so. You can also place a lightly damp paper towel on top of your microgreens to ensure they don't dry out. They will remain alive during this time and continue to provide tons of nutrients. What if I don't harvest them and they get too big?While the ideal time to harvest this variety of microgreens is around 8 days, you can certainly let them go longer. The longer that you let them grow, the larger they will become, eventually growing into adult size vegetables.
