Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a beautiful "Verre de Soie" art glass pedestal vase, c. 1930's. Beautiful iridescent coloration in the glass with hues of gold, purple and blue. "Verre de Soie" glass was created by Frederick Carder for Steuben Glass in Corning, N.Y. in the early 1930's and was among his favorite of all the great art glass he created. "Verre de Soie" translates to "glass of silk". Since most of this glass was unsigned, we are uncertain of the maker, however, it does date to this period and is of Steuben quality. The vase has a flared rim with swirl design in glass above a ribbed lower body with a short decorative pedestal and plain, wide flattened base. Hand blown with unpolished pontil. Measures 5 1/2" high with a 6 1/4" top diameter and a 3 3/4" diameter base. This stunning vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Unmarked but guaranteed to be as represented. We at Antiques & Moore have been in the Antiques business for over 30 years and try to describe our items as accurately as possible. Although all sales are considered final, if there is an error in our description or a problem with our item, we will issue a full refund of the purchase price if contacted within 3 days after receipt of item, however, please note that we can not refund shipping charges.
