Description: NOTE: I do combine items to save you on shipping cost.This is a large, 5 gram, polished piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber with an all-natural, beautiful cherry red color contains a large wasp that once lived during the Cretaceous Period when dinosaurs including T-Rex and Triceratops still walked the Earth. It could be made into a lovely and unique piece of jewelry like a pendant. This piece is genuine amber formed over millions of years of polymerization. Burmite (Burmese) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs and is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma). The saltwater test claims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink.However, many amber sources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical (plant) composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are more dense than saltwater and so sink.
