My price quote is an average of the cost to ship to Seattle or New York and the cost to another city in Texas or a neighboring state (all shipping services charge based on distance, in addition to package size). I do not charge handling fees or for packing and shipping materials that I use. They are usually recycled materials, in the interest of saving our planet, but they are clean, and I pack my items well. On fragile items, I usually insure them - except when the price is less than $50, and the shipping service includes that coverage (USPS Priority and FedEx both do). Shipping costs have gone up, and even though I pay eBay fees on shipping, I still charge the estimated calculator's price for eBay discounted shipping. I often lose money on shipping but on the rare occasion that the shipping cost paid is substantially more than the actual cost, I will refund that difference to the buyer. If requested, I have no problem getting an exact shipping price to a buyer's zip code and adjust the shipping cost accordingly. Return shipping paid by buyer unless I made an error that caused a misrepresentation of the item, in which case I will pay the return shipping, by reimbursement or I can send a return label. Additionally, the refund will be for the purchase price of the item only and will not include the shipping that I have already paid.
