He inscribed this copy to Mr. & Mrs. Grady Gallant. Mr. Gallant (1920-2009) was a reporter, editor and photographer in a long and successful journalism career. During WW2, he was a Marine who fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima. The book is a history of the Belle Meade area of Nashville and includes stories about the Belle Meade County Club, the history of horse breeding and racing in that area, early residents, Warner Park, and more. The book is blue cloth hardcover with gold lettering on the cover and spine. It has 127 pages with 7 chapters, 36 color and B&W photos, notes, and an index. It is in Like New condition. The DJ has some wear and minor chipping along the top/bottom edges and at the top/bottom of the spine. There is also some staining at the bottom of the inside of the back cover, but it does not go through to the outside of the back cover. The book will be carefully packaged to insure safe shipping.
