These are used, genuine Nintendo parts pulled from scrapped DS Lite consoles so the condition of the lenses can vary. Each lens is inspected to be in acceptable condition.Common Screen Issues Other Less Common Issues If there is no audio at all, there may be debris stuck in the headphone jack, which can be easily fixed. Before you try replacing the screen, try cleaning out the headphone jack by inserting a pair of headphones about 10-20 times. This can sometimes clear debris.LCD Backlight Color Tone Backlight color tone is the color of the display backlight. For example, Apple's "truetone" technology dynamically changes the color of the display backlight depending on ambient conditions. In a DS screen, the backlight tone is constant and cannot change. I've noticed that some Nintendo screens have a warm tone backlight and others have a cool tone backlight. Warm tone appears more yellow (not to be confused with an aged backlight diffuser) whereas a cool tone backlight appears more blueish. All aftermarket screens (top and bottom) I have seen for these consoles are warm in tone. To ensure you have a matching backlight color tone on both the top and bottom screen, it is recommended to replace both the top and bottom screen. This ensures the same color tone across both screens. Mismatched backlight tone is NOT a defect but something to consider if you care to match the backlight tone. If you don't know what tone your display backlight is, please send me a picture of your console powered on. Nintendo has not produced parts for this console in a decade so your only option is buying used or a new aftermarket (I sell both).Testing Process I plugin the screen to a test rig and ensure the console powers on with audio and no artifacts on the screen. I use a LCD tester program to flash different colors on the screen to reveal any stuck pixels. It is recommended to test the screen once received before installing to see if the screen was damaged in shipping. Please do not open returns for a screen that you damaged while installing.
