Description: British Thomas Lakin Grisaille Painted Landscape & Gilt Drabware Plate C. 1815 Rare antique British drabware earthenware reticulated plate. Decorated in a Grisaille painted landscape with trees, fence, and church ruins. Gold highlights to the edge and inner rim. Impressed Lakin on the reverse. Circa 1815. Has crazing typical of earthenware, some wear to the gilding, some small in manufacture firing separations to the reticulated rim, two chips to the front edge, and a few small chips and flakes to the back edge. Measures approximately 7 5/8 inch plate. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece. IX
