Description: A vintage oil on canvas board painting by American artist Francis Clark Brown (1908 - 1992) measuring approximately 8 x 10 inches in its original larger frame. Brilliant colors and excellent condition as pictured. Thanks for looking. Francis Clark Brown was born in Nashville, IN August 7, 1908 and he died in New Sharon, Iowa on October 12, 1992. He was a member of the Indiana Art Guild and the Indiana Artists Club. He graduated from Kokomo High School and studied at the John Herron School of Art, Purdue University, Fuller School of Art in St. Ives England and the Gruuppe School in Gloucester, Massachusetts. He had an art gallery in Nashville, IN. He referred to the location as Artbrush Corner. Of his work, he said, Paintings are for the eyes to see, the heart to enjoy and to add an extra portion of adventure to life. He won prizes at the Hoosier Salon in 1949, 56-58, 76 and also the Richmond Artists Association in 1957, 65, 66, 71, 82 and the Indiana State Fair in 1934, 1939 and the Anderson Art Society in 1936.
