BUNYAN " PILGRIM'S PROGRESS " 3/4 LEATHER, ILLUSTRATED HC G 19th CENTURY

Description: This is " Pilgrim's Progress and Other Works " by John Bunyan, in an illustrated edition published by William Mackenzie, Glasgow. No publication date given, but sometime before 1865, which is the date of the owner's inscription on the right front end paper. This edition features 31 full-page plates, including a fold-out of "Bunyan's Dream" and copious other smaller illustrations. Condition of this oversize hardcover book is about Good; it is bound in worn 3/4 leather with gilt decorations and marbling to the page block edges. The spine is worn to the point of being illegible, but the binding is still holding on. Some pages are coming loose, and there is a tear in the fold-out.
