Bushnell Yardage Pro Golf GPS Rangefinder Model# 36-8100 Telemeter (SEE NOTE!!!)

Description: IMPORTANT NOTICE: This unit still works great and the battery still holds a good long charge. However, I am not sure if Bushnell still offers the software support for this model. If they do, it MAY be by subscription. Frankly, this is Bushnell's fault, and this says a LOT about what you should consider for future customer support by this corporation. This is not the only model they've had problems with!!! There is no disk with this product, and you are directed to a web page THAT NO LONGER EXISTS for the Golf Course downloads. I made the mistake of buying a brand new charger for this thing so I could sell it, and had no idea these changes within the company had been made. I was only selling this for a golfing family member and am not a golfer myself, so there you have it. So why offer it at all? I think once you have the software downloaded to your home computer, this can still be of use. There just won't be any updates available to the courses you have on your computer already, and you may not be able to download new courses for this particular item. So maybe there is someone out there who enjoyed using this model, and still have the software and golf courses on their home computer, and might need parts or the entire unit replaced (maybe due to the unit getting damaged on the course). I know it's a pain to relearn new software and devices, and still use some older versions of software myself because most new programs only basically only re-arranged, with only one or two new features that we might find useful anyway! So that's it. I did not get through to Bushnell by telephone. ANOTHER black mark against them for their declining customer service towards their product. If I do, and find out they still support this rangefinder, I will remove this notice and add the NEW details on how it's supported. I'm not familiar with these types of units enough to know if they have any other uses outside the requirements of the software which they no longer seem to offer. So again, unless you already have the old software on your computer (which this unit connects to - it does not connect direct to the company), this may be of limited or no use to you. And this goes for ALL of these same models sold here on eBay, for which you will find VERY FEW sellers being honest with you like this!!! Another reason I may keep this listing up is simply to expose the very LOUSY customer service Bushnell is now offering, and to show what you might be able to expect in the future buying ANY of their "NEW" products!!!
