The game was played on September 6,1987 between Team Canada and Team Russia at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton,Ontario.The game was the final Round - Robin game for each team before the Playoff Round.The game ended in a 3-3 tie and would set the stage for the soon to be final three game series for the Canada Cup Championship of 1987.Many people claim that the games played between these two teams in this tournament were amongst the best ever games ever played in hockey history.Canada would go on to in the Canada after winning the hard fought three game final series with the historic goal in Canadian hockey history from Gretzky to Lemieux.In this 3-3 tie,Wayne Gretzky scored the tying goal for Canada and added an assist.Mario Lemieux had one assist and Mark Messier two assists. Russian stars Krutov,Fetisov and Makarov figured in the scoring for Russia.The ticket stub is fully intact but the writing on the ticket like many printed during this day is hard to see.A super item for the hockey fan.
