All the bulletins, pamphlets and booklet are in good condition, with a little staining on the front cover of "Recipes" and the booklet "Cancer". The book shows wear on the cover, rubbing at the head and foot of the spine, the inside is clean, there is a little binding looseness at the top of the first set of pages, which goes to page 22. Please see pictures. William Frederick Koch (1885–1967) was a U.S. medical doctor and pharmaceutical entrepreneur. Ever since 1919, a year after his graduation from a reputable medical school, Dr. Koch had been peddling “cancer cures”. In the 1940s he marketed glyoxylide, a drug which he claimed would cure cancer. The claims were never scientifically proved, and he was considered a charlatan by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He moved to Mexico in 1950, and continued his practice there. Still a fascinating bit of Detroit history, and a very rare book. Any questions, please ask.
