Cement Concrete Gym barbell weight plate molds LB Pounds KG Kilograms

Description: These are 3d Printed molds for Cement gym weight plates, where I live gyms are shutting down again, and still months out from getting iron weights and gym equipment. As winter is hitting I need something to do, so I designed these. They are multi part and are designed to use #6 wood screws to attach them to a sheet of plywood. These are the newest version designed to be as easy to use as I can make them, as well as far more accurate. There are multiple versions but you can pick the biggest and then just fill with the amount of premixed concrete dry in weight, you want the final weight to weigh. Now to make a successful weight I have some tips, and instructional video I am working on updating. First the plywood, if that's what you are using, either flex seal the board, or get you some wax parchment paper, this makes for a smoother weight plate and releasing it way easier. When attaching the molds, please turn your drill down, if you go he man, you will bust something, but you can clamp the molds tight and together then drill then screw. Now I suggest putting some painters tape on top the screws so you can back them out later. Now these new molds come with a centering tool to help you get the sleeve locator int eh center of the mold, just lay it down tight, then screw the sleeve locator in. I use 2" black ABS pipe I get from any hardware store, but people have sent me pics with PVC pipe, and metal conduit, so choice is yours. but if using plastic, please drill some countersinks into it, you will see in the pics in the empty mold a section sticking straight up, the countersinks help the concrete hold that sleeve in place after it dries. Now onto the concrete, I used highstrength but that's up to you, also you can do some metal reinforcing if you want I did not, I used fiber reinforcements I dumped in while mixing, a little of those go a long way so take it easy on them. Now as for the amount of concrete this will change on the weight you desire, but the basic recipe is the weight of the dry is pretty close to the weight of the plate after mixing and letting them cure. If you only want 45LB for instance just order my 45LB 45cm version, that is the correct diameter for dead-lifts, you fill to the top with concrete mix, and you are pretty close within a pound of 45, usually less than that. The variations, the first thing you see is the Diameter of the weight the mold will make between 15CM and 45CM, 45CM is the same as a standard weight plate you use to dead-lift with. next part is how many sections the mold comes in, then if you filled to the top with concrete on the Olympic center what it would weight, if you choose to use the standard centers it will weight a little bit more. After the concrete sets up, as the instructions on your bag says, take it out of the mold.
