The never heard before 1972 club performance by bassist composer Charles Mingus' powerful sextet was released one day after what would have been Mingus's 100th birthday. The live set was professionally recorded on eight-track tapes via a mobile recording truck on Aug. 14-15, 1972, but was never released. The deluxe booklet includes interviews with Mingus, Alto Saxophonist Charles McPherson, and Writer Fran Lebowitz. An overview by jazz historian Brian Priestley and more. Please note: CDs are not in original box, but in separate designated CD sleeves.
