The box is open, but everything inside is new; never used. The end cover is 2" wide and 2.5" high. The brackets extend out 4 5/8" from the wall and are 2 3/4" high. The rod is 1" high. It requires screwing the side brackets into the wall above the window on each side, pulling out the poles to the needed size (up to 36") and screwing on the end pieces. Hang the rod on the brackets and then your curtains on the rod. Super easy! Works for many styles from antique interiors to contemporary styling. Walmart's price is over $38 for this item, by the way. Those who live nearby and wish to save money on shipping costs may pick up this item.
