Burger served as the 15th Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1969-1986. Offered here is a Lewis Glaser quill and inkwell desk set. Sets like this were presented as gifts from the Chief Justice to the individuals that served on the Commission on the Bicentennial of the Constitution, created to organize and promote the anniversary. Burger resigned from the Supreme Court in 1986 to serve as Chairman of the Commission. The goose feather quill and pewter inkwell are presented in a ~14 1/2" x 4" x 3 1/4" wood box and all components are in Very Good condition.
