Burger served as the 15th Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1969-1986. Offered here is a lot of silver-plated dinnerware (total of 9 pieces). The group includes the following pieces: a small ~9" serving tray/dish (International Silver, Co.), a 12" serving dish (Lawrence B. Smith, Co. No.860), a ~10" serving bowl (Gorham Silver, Co. YC784), another small 9" serving tray/dish (marked Community), a 6 1/2" tray (Fairpoint Sheffield No.0518), a small boat (Reed & Barton Chippendale No.43) and an 8" serving bowl (Reed & Barton No.104). All pieces show toning and discoloration. Also included is a small serving dish from Barbour Silver Company (No.5432) with an embossed floral pattern along the edge, and a 12" silver serving plate (Lawrence B. Smith, Co No. 1277). Both pieces are engraved with a "B" and show moderate toning. Second Story Books will provide a Letter of Authenticity guaranteeing this lot is from the estate of the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Warren E. Burger.
