Description: Large Kangxi period Chinese Imari Bowl. Superbly decorated. Early 18th Century. The bowl features an unusual mountain scene within a scholars scroll. These scrolls are then surrounded by a more usual Peony and flowers pattern which is more common for the period. The bowl dates to the first quarter of the 18th Century. The scroll decoration is more typical of Yongzheng period pieces however the rest of the bowl is very much in the Kangxi style. The gilding on this bowl is still in excellent condition which is rare to find. The dish is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and copper red and then overglaze decorated in copper red and gilding. The border features a rich copper gold finish Size 23cm (over 9 inches) in diameterHeight 10cm (4 inches) Item is listed elsewhere so may be withdrawn at any time.
