Description: A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued in 1961 to commemorate the centennial of the first shots fired by the confederates in the Civil War at the Union Fort on April 12th, 1861. The stamp is the first of five that were issued yearly during 1961 - 1965 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Civil War, a truly a sad and divisive time in U.S. history. The stamp depicts a Confederate soldier firing a cannon. These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the post office over 60 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift for anyone interested in US military history and is a must have item for every Fort Sumter memorabilia collector. Look in my other auctions for blocks of stamps of other historical significance including more Civil War blocks! All stamps are Mint Never Hinged. Shipping is $1.00 for first class mail. Additional stamp block auctions won, paid for in one COMBINED transaction and shipped at the same time are only 25 cents extra per auction (sheets and booklets not included), with a maximum shipping charge of $5.00, no matter how many auctions you win. Please pay for all of your auctions in one payment. All payments are to be in US currency only. I send stamps out when I receive your payment or the day after if the mail has already gone out. Thanks for looking at my auction. If you have any questions, please email me before bidding.
