Description: DODLOMITE: Eugui, Esteribar, Navarre, Spain. Dimensions: 5.5 x 4.5 x 4.0cm, small cabinet/large miniature. here is a glassy and translucent to transparent, twinned crystal of Dolomite with two companion crystals, each twinned with respect to the large crystal. The large crystal measures 4.5cm on its longest axis and the two smaller crystals are each 1.4cm on edge. The faces and edges are sharp on all of the crystals! Overall the color is translucent white and the large crystal is transparent to translucent, more transparent on the edges with a whitish band at the bottom end. The two smaller crystals are more transparent. The large crystal also shows phantoms within as shown in the last photo which is very unusual for these Dolomites. This is a super aesthetic piece with the pair of small Dolomite crystals sitting symmetrically and twinned at the top! Arguably the finest Dolomite crystals have come from Eugui and these geometric textbook crystals were in vogue from the earliest days of mineralogy and crystallography in Europe.
