The first recording was from the December 5th, 1952 Gala performance of the American Shakespeare Festival production "AN EVENING WITH WILL SHAKESPEARE" at the New Parsons Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut. (The production opened December 5th, 1952 in Hartford, Connecticut and closed May 9th, 1953 at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. after touring several cities. The production failed to arrive on Broadway.) ..... Presenting scenes from "Twelfth Night", "Henry V", "Julius Caesar", "The Taming of the Shrew", "Macbeth", "Henry VIII" and others, the cast included CLAUDE RAINS, FAYE EMERSON, EVA LE GALLIENNE, MARGARET WEBSTER, ARNOLD MOSS, WESLEY ADDY, LEUEEN MacGRATH, RICHARD DYER-BENNET, NINA FOCH and STAATS COTSWORTH and the recording included selected Shakespearian Songs by RICHARD DYER-BENNET with narrations by MARGARET WEBSTER ..... The other two recordings were Henrik Ibsen's "HEDDA GABLER" starring EVA LE GALLIENNE and featuring RICHARD WARING and ANDREW CRUICKSHANK and Oscar Wilde's "THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST" starring MAURICE EVANS and LUCILE WATSON and featuring MILDRED NATWICK, LEUEEN MacGRATH, JOHN WILLIAMS, STELLA ANDREW and JOHN MERIVALE .....
